Professor Kroenig is an assistant professor and international relations field chair in the Department of Government at Georgetown University. Previously, he served in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, where he worked on defense policy for Iran and authored the first-ever US government strategy for deterring terrorist networks. For his work, he was awarded the Office of the Secretary of Defense’s Award for Outstanding Achievement. He is the author or editor of several books, including Exporting the Bomb: Technology Transfer and the Spread of Nuclear Weapons (2010), which received the International Studies Association’s Best Book Award, Honorable Mention. His articles have been widely published, including in the American Political Science Review, Foreign Affairs, Foreign Policy, International Organization, International Security, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, and USA Today. He regularly appears on BBC, CNN, C-SPAN, NPR, and many other media outlets.
