At times, crises can appear like freight trains, overrunning hapless leaders seeking to contain them. At other times, leaders who step forward can dramatically alter the course of a crisis. In this final session of the Asan Plenum, panelists will discuss present-day social crises and evaluate how leaders have approached them. What are the institutional features that have facilitated or hindered leaders’ efforts to respond to crises? What qualities of leadership are needed to address the crises confronting us today?
