Ralph A. Cossa is President of the Pacific Forum CSIS in Honolulu, Hawaii. He is a political, military affairs, and national security specialist with more than 30 years of experience formulating and implementing U.S. security policy in the Asia-Pacific and Near East-South Asia regions. He is a member of the CSIS Board of Trustees as well as a founding member and former international co-chair of the multinational track two Council for Security Cooperation in the Asia Pacific (CSCAP). He also serves as the primary U.S. representative to the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) Experts and Eminent Persons Group and is a member of the Council on U.S.-Korean Security Studies, the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations, and the International Institute for Strategic Studies (London). He is senior editor of the Pacific Forum`s electronic journal, Comparative Connections, and a member of the editorial boards of a number of international journals.
