Dr. Ryo is an Associate Professor of international politics at Kanagawa University. He specializes in international politics and is currently focusing on regional security architecture in Asia as well as Japanese security policy. He also serves as a Research Fellow at the Japan Center for International Exchange and teaches at Keio University and Aoyama Gakuin University. Previously, he served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of International Relations of the Australian National University as well as Assistant Professor at the Graduate School of Public Policy (GraSPP), the University of Tokyo. He was also an assistant professor at the Policy Alternatives Research Institute (PARI), University of Tokyo and joined Kanagawa University in April 2010. He received his B.A. from the International Christian University and his Ph.D. (cum laude) from the Graduate Schools for Law and Politics at the University of Tokyo.
