An Analysis on Recent Economic Policies and Development Trend in DPRK

North Korea’s recent economic policies and trends can be summarized as “Four New Points”
First, New strategy. The 2013 New Year Message made by DPRK’s Leader indicates that DPRK will take “Develop Nuclear and Economic together” as its new developing strategy and policy objectives. Second, New cabinet. DPRK appointed economic officials in charge of governance institutions, the new Premier Park Bong Ju., and there are indications that he has began to take some economic initiatives. Third, New measures., DPRK has taken some noteworthy management measures in economic fields under the background of promoting the new development strategy, specifically in the areas of national leading economic and basic industries sectors. Fourth, some new development signs emergence in the domestic economy and foreign economic cooperation since DPRK adopted a new development strategy and implemented a new development policy.

Conclusion, future trends. Domestic and international environment that DPRK currently has to be confronted with are serious constraints for its development.
