Dr. Miller is the director of the international security program at the Belfer Center for Science & International Affairs within Harvard University. He is also the editor-in-chief of the quarterly journal International Security; co-chair of the US Pugwash Committee; members of the Council of International Pugwash, the Advisory Committee of the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), and the Scientific Committee of the Landau Network Centro Volta (Italy); and a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, where he co-chairs their Committee on International Security Studies (CISS). Previously, he was a senior research fellow at the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) and taught defense and arms control studies in the department of political science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He is the editor or co-editor of more than two dozen books, including Going Nuclear; Contending with Terrorism; and War with Iraq: Costs, Consequences, and Alternatives. He received his MALD and Ph.D. in international relations from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.
