Professor Suh is a professor in the nuclear engineering department at Seoul National University. Previously, he was the vice president of the Korean Nuclear Society; expert commissioner of the Korean Nuclear Safety Experts Commission; chair of the Korea section of the American Nuclear Society; commissioner of the National Fusion Research Committee; treasurer of the thermal hydraulics division at the American Nuclear Society; commissioner of the Korean Nuclear Utilization and Development Committee; and a member of the editorial advisory board of Nuclear Technology. He was also the head of the Reliability & Risk Analysis Laboratory at Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI); a senior engineer at Westinghouse; and a visiting scholar at the Laboratoire National d’Hydraulique, Electricité de France. He received his B.S. from Seoul National University, and his M.S. and Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
