Mr. Coppen is a researcher and Ph.D. candidate at the Center for Conflict and Security Law at Utrecht University, the Netherlands. Previously, he was a special advisor for the Netherlands at the 2010 NPT Review Conference and the 2012 NPT Preparatory Commission. Mr. Coppen has participated in several conferences as a Panel Member, most recently at the ‘Prospects for a Zone Free from Weapons of Mass Destruction in the Middle East’ forum in Amman, Jordan. His research focuses on the international nuclear non-proliferation regime, arms control law, arms control supervision and nuclear export controls. He received an LL.M. in public international law
