Dr. Yim is Professor and Head of the Department of Nuclear and Quantum Engineering at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). Prior to joining KAIST, he was a senior researcher at the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute, a lecturer at MIT, an Assistant Professor at North Carolina State University, and served as joint faculty between Oak Ridge National Laboratory’s Global Nuclear Security Technology Division and North Carolina State University. Dr. Yim is formerly a Fulbright scholar, a Sam Nunn International Security Fellow at Georgia Tech, and served on the North Carolina Science Advisory Board on Toxic Air Pollutants, and the Nuclear Nonproliferation External Steering Committee at Idaho National Laboratory. He is currently a member of the Advisory Commission Committee on Nuclear Safety and Security for the Republic of Korea. Dr. Yim is a graduate of Seoul National University, the University of Cincinnati, and Harvard University.
