Dr. Huang is a professor and director of the Centre on Asia and Globalization at Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (LKYSPP). Huang also serves as a senior overseas economic analyst for China’s Xinhua News Agency. Before joining the LKYSPP, Huang was a senior fellow at the John Thornton China Center at the Brookings Institution (2004-2007). He has taught at Harvard University (1993-1994), Utah State University (1994-2004), Stanford University (2002-2003), and was a residential fellow at the Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Center in 2012. He has written two books and numerous journal articles, book chapters, policy papers, and op-eds on Chinese politics, foreign policy, military, U.S.-China relations, and security issues in the Asia Pacific. His book, Factionalism in Chinese Communist Politics, won the Masayoshi Ohira Memorial Prize in 2002. He received his M.A. in history from Fudan University and his Ph.D. in political science from Harvard University.
