Ms. Odell is a Research Analyst in the Asia Program at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, where she works on China security studies. She was previously a Junior Fellow at Carnegie and has worked as a research assistant for Professor Robert Sutter at Georgetown University. She earned a bachelor’s degree summa cum laude in East Asian Studies with a minor in Government from Harvard University, where she wrote her senior honor’s thesis on China’s socialization in the WTO dispute settlement mechanism, with Professor Alastair Iain Johnston as her thesis advisor. She conducted thesis research in Beijing and Shanghai as a Fung Scholar in summer 2009, interned in the China Affairs bureau at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative in summer 2008, and studied at Beijing Language and Culture University in summer 2007.
