Speaker

Sen. Benedetto DELLA VEDOVA is the Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Italy. He is also the National Spokesperson of Scelta Civica, political party founded by former Prime Minister Mario Monti. From 2006 to 2013, he was a member of the Italian Chamber of Deputies and then a member of the Italian Senate. He also served as Counsellor at the Economy and Labour National Council from 2005 to 2006 as an expert appointed by the Italian government. He was a member of the European Parliament from 1999 to 2004, serving on the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee and the Industry, Research and Energy Committee, as well as a member of the European delegation for relations with countries of South Asia and SAARC. ​ ​Senator Della Vedova earned a degree in Economics at Università Commerciale Luigi Bocconi in Milan.
