Participant Biographies

Pang Zhongying (庞中英)

Pang Zhongying (庞中英)

Professor, Renmin University of China
China and Global Governance

Dr. Pang teaches international and global affairs at the Renmin University of China. Previously, he was a professor of international relations at several Chinese universities including Nankai University and a senior fellow at the China Institute of International Studies. He was temporarily posted as a political diplomat at the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia. He was a visiting resident fellow at the Brookings Institution (2007-2008), senior visiting research fellow at the East Asian Institute at the National University of Singapore (2011), a visiting professor at Nanjing University and Johns Hopkins University Center for Chinese and American Studies (2004-2005). He is currently a visiting senior researcher for the joint research project, “Concert of Powers in the 21st Century” at the Peace Research Institute Frankfurt (PRIF) and has been appointed as a guest professor at the Interdisciplinary Center for East Asian Studies at Frankfurt University. Dr. Pang received a B.A. in economics from Nankai University, an M.A. in politics from Warwick University, and a Ph.D. in international relations from Peking University.
