Aleksandra Gliszczyńska-Grabias

Plenary Session II - "Collective Memory or Collective Future?"

Dr. Aleksandra Gliszczyńska-Grabias is currently an assistant professor at the Institute of Law Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences. She is a Polish national with policy and legal expertise in the fields of anti-discrimination law, constitutional law, freedom of speech and memory laws. Dr. Gliszczyńska-Grabias was Bohdan Winiarski Fellow at the Lauterpacht Centre of the University of Cambridge in 2014, and graduate fellow of the Yale Initiative for the Interdisciplinary Study of Antisemitism, Yale University (2010-2011). Since September 2016, she is a principal investigator in the Memory Laws in European and Comparative Perspectives (MELA), which is an EU-sponsored research consortium. Apart from her academic work, Dr. Gliszczyńska-Grabias co-leads the Public Interest Strategic Litigation Program at Dentons, a global law firm. She is co-editor and co-author of Law and Memory: Towards Legal Governance of History (CUP, 2017) and also a recipient of the 2015-2018 Fellowship of the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education for outstanding achievements in science and research.
