Dr. Mohamed Jawhar assumed the position of Chairman and Chief Executive and retired as Chairman of ISIS Malaysia in 2015. He served in various senior positions in government before joining ISIS Malaysia as Deputy Director-General in 1990. He is also a distinguished fellow, Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations; distinguished fellow, Malaysian Institute of Defence and Security; fellow, Institute of Public Security, Ministry of Home Affairs; and senior advisor, Asia-Europe Institute, University of Malaya. Dr. Jawhar is Malaysia’s Expert and Eminent Person (EEP) to the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) and a Member of the Asia Pacific Leadership Network for Nuclear Non-Proliferation and Disarmament. He was also Co-Chair, Council for Security Cooperation in the Asia Pacific (CSCAP) 2007-2009; Chairman, Malaysian National Committee, Pacific Economic Cooperation Council (PECC) 2006-2010; and Co-Chair at Network of East Asia Think-tanks (NEAT) 2005-2006. He holds a B.A. with Honors from the University of Malaya.
