John Swenson-Wright
Dr. Swenson-Wright is Senior University Lecturer in Modern Japanese Studies and fellow of Darwin College, Cambridge. He has a B.A. from Christ Church, Oxford; an M.A. from SAIS, Johns Hopkins; and a D.Phil. from St. Antony’s, Oxford. His publications include Unequal Allies? United States Security and Alliance Policy Towards Japan, 1945-1960, and an edited volume, The Best Course Available: A Personal Account of the Secret U.S.-Japan Okinawa Reversion Negotiations. He comments regularly for the global media on the international relations of East Asia, with particular reference to Japan and the Korean peninsula. He is also Senior Consulting Fellow at Chatham House, responsible for the Japan and Korea programs. He is a member of Global Agenda Council (GAC) on Korea as part of the World Economic Forum (WEF), and belongs to both the UK-Korea Forum for the Future and the UK-Japan 21st Century Group.
