Professor Rabi is the Director of Tel Aviv University’s Moshe Dayan Center for Middle Eastern and African Studies, and Chair of the Department of Middle Eastern and African History. His fields of specialization include the modern history of states and societies in the Persian Gulf; revolutionary dynamics in the Middle East; oil and politics in the Middle East; Iranian-Arab relations; and Sunni-Shi’i tensions. Prof. Rabi is regularly invited by the Israeli Knesset to deliver updates and briefs on current developments in the Middle East. He is the director of TAU’s annual workshop for scholars from around the world, a ten-day seminar on the geopolitics of Israel and its neighbors. Prof. Rabi regularly appears on a number of national and international news broadcasting programs for his commentary on current events in the Middle East.
