Ambassador Fujisaki Ichiro is the President and CEO of the Nakasone Peace Institute and President of the America-Japan Society. Fujisaki has been a career diplomat for more than 40 years. He served at overseas posts, including Jakarta, Paris, London, and Washington, D.C., before assuming the post of director general of the North American Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He was promoted to Deputy Foreign Minister and served as the personal representative of the Prime Minister of Japan at the G8 Summit. Fujisaki served as the Ambassador and the Japanese representative for the United Nations and World Trade Organization in Geneva from 2005 to 2008. Subsequently, he served as Ambassador of Japan to the United States from 2008 through 2012. He then became a distinguished professor at Sophia University, Keio University, and other academic institutes.
