Iwashita Akihiro

Dr. Iwashita is a professor at the Slavic Research Center, Hokkaido University. Professor Iwashita joined the Slavic Research Center in 2001. Between 2007 and 2008, Professor Iwashita was a Visiting Research Fellow at the Brookings Institution Center for Northeast Asian Policy Studies. In 2006, he was a recipient of the Osaragi Jiro Prize for Commentary. In 2007, he received an award from the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science. Professor Iwashita’s field specializations are in Russian foreign policy and Sino-Russian relations.
