Participant Biographies

Lance Kim

University of California, Berkeley

Dr. Kim completed a Ph.D. in nuclear engineering at the University of California, Berkeley where he was a National Science Foundation Public Policy and Nuclear Threats Fellow. His research focuses on systems analysis for nuclear fuel cycle planning, proliferation resistance, and physical protection. His work experience includes stints at the U.S.Nuclear Regulatory Commission, International Atomic Energy Agency, Department of State, and RAND Corporation. He received a M.P.P. from the Goldman School of Public Policy and a bachelor’s in nuclear and mechanical engineering from Berkeley. Beginning this fall, he will be a Stanton Nuclear Security Fellow at RAND.
