Participant Biographies

James Kim

Assistant Professor, California State Polytechnic University (Pomona)

Dr. Kim is an Assistant Professor of political science at the California State Polytechnic University (Pomona). He also holds a joint appointment as a lecturer in the Executive Master of Public Policy and Administration Program at Columbia University. Prior to joining the faculty at Cal Poly, he was the summer research associate at the Rand Corporation and a statistical consultant for the Institute for Social and Economic Research and Planning at the School of International and Public Affairs in Columbia University. His primary research interests include comparative democratic institutions, trade, methodology, media, and public policy. He holds a doctorate in political science from Columbia University as well as a bachelor and master in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University.
