Ms. Karen Elliott House is a senior fellow at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard Kennedy School. She is chairman of the board of the RAND Corporation and serves on multiple non-profit boards including the Trilateral Commission. Ms. House retired in March 2006 as publisher of The Wall Street Journal. During a 32-year career there, she covered international relations. She is the author of a book, On Saudi Arabia: Its People, Past, Religion, Fault Lines and Future (Knopf, 2012), and her journalism awards include a Pulitzer Prize in 1984 for international reporting for coverage of the Middle East. Ms. House is graduate of the University of Texas at Austin where in 1996 she received the University’s “Distinguished Alumnus” award. She is married and the mother of four children, including two from South Korea, one of whom is living in Seoul.
