Jung H. Pak

Dr. Jung H. Pak is the SK-Korea Foundation chair in Korea studies at the Brookings Institution in Washington, DC. Dr. Pak has held positions in the Central Intelligence Agency, where she served from 2009 to 2017. She was also the deputy national intelligence officer for Korea on the National Intelligence Council from 2014-2016. In that role, she led the U.S. Intelligence Community’s (IC) production of strategic analysis on Korean Peninsula issues, represented the IC in White House policy meetings, provided direct analytic support to the National Security Council, and advised the Director of National Intelligence and his senior staff on key developments and emerging issues. Prior to her work in national security, Dr. Pak taught history at Hunter College and studied in South Korea as a Fulbright Scholar. She received her Ph.D. in US history from Columbia University, and her B.A. from Colgate University, where she served as a trustee from 2009 to 2015.
