Kim Jae Cheol

Political Reform in China

Dr. Kim is a professor of international studies at the Catholic University of Korea (CUK) where he teaches Chinese politics and China’s international relations. Before joining CUK, he was a research fellow at the Sejong Institute (1994-1996). He has written many articles on China, including “From the Fringe to the Center: The Political Emergence of Private Entrepreneurs in China,” in Issues & Studies (2005), “The Political Economy of Chinese Investment in North Korea: A Preliminary Assessment”, in Asian Survey (2006), and “Politics of Regionalism in East Asia: The Case of the East Asia Summit”, in Asian Perspective (2010). His research interests include China’s political change, China’s international relations, and regional cooperation in East Asia. Professor Kim received his Ph.D. in political science from the University of Washington in 1993.
