Panel Description
The vision of the ROK-U.S. alliance has guided the solid and cooperative bilateral relationship between South Korea and the U.S. The alliance has been the linchpin for stability, prosperity, and cooperation. However, as the ROK-U.S. alliance’s strategic environment undergoes change, new questions and constraints can be considered. What was the guiding vision of the ROK-U.S. alliance? What kind of strategic environment is the alliance facing today? Is the existing vision of the ROK-U.S. alliance useful in the current and future environment? What should be the vision for the alliance in meeting the challenges of the 21st century?
